About

Cliff Moran

Clifford Moran has been creating custom woodwork and furniture in the Connecticut and New York area since 1982. Cliff has a BFA in Industrial Design from Rhode Island school of Design with an emphasis on furniture design. He studied with Tage Frid, John Dunnigan, Alphonse Matia, among others. While he can build virtually any style of cabinetry or furniture to suit any job, his own designs tend toward a modern take on more linear Arts and Crafts styles with some Scandinavian influences.

The business was based in New York City until 1992 when it moved to Ridgefield, Connecticut. Cliff has been involved in a wide range of projects concentrating mostly on high end residential renovation and furniture projects, with a mix of commercial and restaurant work included in the mix.

The shop is a 2500 square foot studio 50 yards from Cliff’s home. The shop is full of very precise, sophisticated German equipment enabling him and his assistants to efficiently undertake larger and more complex projects than most shops of this size. Because of the proximity to his residence, Cliff can be available to meet by appointment on a very flexible basis.
